So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, ROOTED and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. -Colossians 2:6-7

ROOTED Youth Ministry includes junior high to high school students from different backgrounds and all walks of life. We strive to grow together as a body of Christ, as well as in our own personal relationship with God.

Spiritual transformation happens when kids come to know Jesus, rather than just know about Jesus. 

Our job is to prepare the soil of kids’ hearts so seeds of faith can grow, and a true relationship with Jesus can happen. 

 Each experience is intentionally designed to create a social, emotional, and spiritual environment that prepares hearts and minds for God to work. 

We provide nursery services on Sunday mornings from 10:15am till end of service for ages 2months (8 weeks) - 3 years old (not potty trained).   All of our Volunteers are background checked.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer of this ministry, please see Sis. Too often serving in the church nursery can seem like a thankless job. One of the key tasks for children’s ministry leaders is to help volunteers understand their importance. 

The truth is this. Nursery Ministry is ministry at the most critical time in a person’s life. Here are a couple of ways that Nursery Ministry makes a difference.

1. Nursery Ministry is Prayer Ministry. Do you believe prayer makes a difference in someone’s life? If so, then the early years are a key time to pray for a person. The early years are a key time to pray God’s promises for a person. The early years are crucial years, when a person needs spiritual warriors praying hedges of protection around them.

Think about the impact the prayers of nursery volunteers can make in the lives of babies, toddlers, and Pre-K. 

a. Pray for the child you are rocking, holding, or playing with on the floor.

b. Ever heard of Monkey See, Monkey Do… these are the years the children mimic what they see. What if… babies, toddlers, and Pre-K saw you talking to God as your best friend in the nursery?

2. Babies and Toddlers can process and be impacted by God’s Word.

a. We can do this by short lessons, visual pictures, bible stories, music, coloring sheets. And Yes , it will help build a foundation of faith in a child’s life.

If you haven’t noticed, there’s a new term being used in the Nursery Ministry… it’s Pre-K. I talked with Pastor Steve and with the Children Pastors and were all in agreement of this new break-off class. For older 3-year old, who are potty trained can be graduated up to the Pre-K class. The Pre-K class will be for ages 3-5.

Let me stress, if your child has been going to children’s church who are 5, they will continue to go there.

The Pre-K class will be the children that we are working with currently and any new children in the future. The Pre-K class is being geared to get them ready for Children’s church.

Couple of Rules....The Pre-K class is mainly being taught by Tess; however, they are several older teens that may also want to mentor to the younger generation. Like Ruby or Layla who have had experience with the nursery ministry already. Any new teen will not be able to volunteer until after I have received approval by the Youth Pastor, Travis.

Anyone who wants to volunteer, there is a process to go through. There are background checks that are done. Training is another item of importance and is on-going so don’t think that you would just be put into a room of babies and be expected to handle it.
